I am a ceramics researcher at the above Institute and have a history degree and a research MPhil in archaeology  from the University of Aberdeen. I have worked with material from all prehistoric periods and from many sites in Orkney, although the bulk of my present work is with the c. 45,000 mostly Grooved Ware sherds from the massive Neolithic ceremonial site at the Ness of Brodgar, Orkney.

Areas of Interest:

Prehistoric ceramics, particularly Neolithic and Bronze Age; issues of technology, function and change, and communicating understanding of ceramics to professionals and students.
