ArchAIDE has won the ‘Heritage in Motion Awards’. The competition promoted by the European Museum Academy (EMA), Europa Nostra and Europeana who
each year rewards the best multimedia projects and products which can be used in and draw attention to the value of Europe’s cultural heritage. ArchAIDE coming first in the ‘App’ category: “Image recognition and 3D modelling technology, just like big data and open-source, are placed at the disposal of archaeology,” emphasised the jury of the award in its motivations. “This app has the potential to evolve into an extremely useful and innovative tool.” The award ceremony was held in Ljubljana on 20th September and the prize was collected by Gabriele Gattiglia and Francesca Anichini from the MAPPA Lab of the University of Pisa.
